I explored the virtual realm to bring attention to something Sarajevo deeply needs — a concert hall.
Using the architectural renderings of the unbuilt National Concert Hall designed by Urban Future Organization (UFO) which won the 1999 international competition chaired by Zaha Hadid and organized by the City of Rome and the Canton of Sarajevo to design a national concert hall in Sarajevo, I wanted to bring life within that space and orchestrated a virtual performance. By overlaying footage of the hall with recordings of music performed by Violeta Smailović-Huart, Meira Smailović, and myself, I tried to bring life to such as place.
Sarajevo’s musical performances deserves a home. Through this digital intervention, I hope to remind people that the city needs a space for music to truly resonate.
